#57 - Leslie

Charleston, SC Rock 'N' Roll band LESLIE joins us in the studio! We've been fans of these guys for years and caught them live several times in Atlanta and Charleston. We finally reeled them in to the studio. Although they grew up in the 90's, they have an authentic 70's sound (and look!). After years of building a fan base in Charleston and around the Southeast, and releasing multiple EP's, they finally have a full length album, "Lord, Have Mercy" coming out in a few weeks. Check their website for more info, and make sure you see these guys live next time they're in town. They interpret their songs here acoustically pretty well, but their full electric sound and live show must be experienced... Enjoy!

#56 - Young Orchids

Atlanta band Young Orchids joins us in the studio! These guys are a great original rock band incorporating multiple styles of music and 60's style harmonies. Very cool. They were also a great hang. Lots-o-laughs on this one! They celebrate the release of their debut album "Afterglow" THIS FRIDAY NIGHT at the Star Bar in Little 5 Points. Also on the bill are two other great bands: J. Roddy Walston & The Business (Baltimore) and Leslie (Charleston). This is gonna be a great show! Enjoy!

#55 - Chicken Raid 2011 Preview Show with MUDCAT and Beverly “Guitar” Watkins

MUDCAT (Danny Dudek) and Georgia Music Hall of Fame Inductee Beverly "Guitar" Watkins join us in the studio to promote this year's annual CHICKEN RAID Festival at The Northside Tavern this Saturday & Sunday (3/19-3/20). MUDCAT, who we consider to be Atlanta's Blues Ambassador, is the brainchild behind the Chicken Raid Honoring Mr. Frank Edwards, and makes his 3rd appearance on our show (Thanks, Danny!). Ms. Beverly Watkins is an Atlanta Blues, Soul, and R&B Legend, but is world renowned. From her bio: "Watkins set fire to the stage with Piano Red in the 1950’s and 1960’s, worked with James Brown, B.B. King and Ray Charles, kept the heat going in Atlanta blues clubs for decades, and she is not about to give up her striding, acrobatic style just because she’s marched past 70."

This year's Chicken Raid benefits the Music Maker Relief Foundation -

Atlanta Southern Rock Band Ponderosa joins us in the studio! Here's some genuine Atlanta Rock N' Roll, folks! Great tunes with great lead vocals and harmonies, excellent songwriting, and sweet slide guitar. We're proud to claim these guys as Atlanta's own, and they've been tearing up the rest of the country, too. Check out their recent release on New West Records, "Moonlight Revival". Enjoy!
