*This is a re-posted podcast that originally aired in November 2010. Enjoy! New Episodes from the NEW STUDIO coming soon...Stay Tuned!!!

Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights join us in the studio! We caught this great Dallas, Texas Rock 'N' Roll band opening for AC/DC in Atlanta last year, and we then saw them on Jimmy Kimmel Live in April. They have also opened for or toured with: Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, OAR, and Kid Rock. Their latest album, Pardon Me,  was released on F-Stop/Atlantic Records and recently had songs placed on three major network TV shows including Friday Night Lights and HBO's Boardwalk Empire. One track from the album, which they also perform here, was co-written with Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes. We're glad we caught these guys now, cause they'll be too big for us soon...

Connor Christian and (most of) his band, Southern Gothic, join us in the studio! From Connor's Bio: "Equal parts modern troubadour, back road poet and outlaw rocker, Connor Christian creates gritty, soulful songs of experience revealing solace in hardship, hope in destitution, and a dustbowl sensibility." These guys are label-mates with some of our recent guests also on Vintage Earth Music, and have been touring extensively. They've brought great tunes, great stories, and a fun hang. Enjoy!

*This is a re-posted podcast that originally aired Sept. 17th, 2009. Enjoy! THIS IS PART ONE.

Eric Von Haessler from The Regular Guys show on ROCK 100.5 in Atlanta joins us in the studio!

If you live in Atlanta, you should already be familiar with Eric and The Regular Guys, but theirs is the most popular radio show in Atlanta, and one of the only great morning shows left nationwide. Eric and Larry Wachs moved the show from LA to Atlanta in the mid-90's, and have been on (and off) the air in Atlanta for over 10 years.

In this episode we discuss... a lot. Mostly the radio industry itself and where it is going, The Regular Guys, what REALLY happened when they were thrown off the air (twice!), satellite radio, podcasting, stand-up comedians, favorite guests on HIS show, and much more.

We talked so much when Eric sat down with us that we split this show into two podcasts. This is Part 1. In Part 2, we discuss music mostly. We'll have Part 2 available in a few days. Stay tuned!

*Check out The Wood Brothers newest CD release, "Smoke Ring Halo"

(From July '09) Oliver Wood, one half of The Wood Brothers, and founding member of Atlanta's own King Johnson, joins Bryan and Ira in the studio. Oliver has been a highly respected Atlanta singer/guitarist/songwriter for many years, first backing up respected blues artist Tinsley Ellis, then continually touring and recording with one of the best bands to come out of the southeast, King Johnson. 3 years ago, he reconnected with his brother Chris Wood (of Medeski, Martin, and Wood) to form The Wood Brothers, who have recorded their last two full-length albums on the Blue Note label, and also a new EP of covers which they released themselves.

Oliver performs two original songs in the studio (and a third to be released as a TFRadio bonus episode - stay tuned!). In addition to our many traditional discussion topics, this episode also features a new "segment" called "Bryan's 3-2-1": 3 questions, 2 minutes each, 1 artist...

#57 - Leslie

Charleston, SC Rock 'N' Roll band LESLIE joins us in the studio! We've been fans of these guys for years and caught them live several times in Atlanta and Charleston. We finally reeled them in to the studio. Although they grew up in the 90's, they have an authentic 70's sound (and look!). After years of building a fan base in Charleston and around the Southeast, and releasing multiple EP's, they finally have a full length album, "Lord, Have Mercy" coming out in a few weeks. Check their website for more info, and make sure you see these guys live next time they're in town. They interpret their songs here acoustically pretty well, but their full electric sound and live show must be experienced... Enjoy!
